Independent working paper, not peer reviewed
github.com/abdulhaseeb707/inflation-corporate-profitability-pakistan
- Began in 2025 as a Stata regression study of inflation and firm-level profitability; rebuilt in Python in 2026 as a twenty-year panel of 6,683 firm-years for 441 listed non-financial companies, from State Bank of Pakistan data.
- Estimated fixed-effects, threshold and sector models with Driscoll–Kraay errors and a wild cluster bootstrap: the link is weak on average, bends at about 10% inflation and differs by sector.
- Showed that operating profit grew 6.4 times in rupees but ended about 3% lower after inflation. Wrote a 21-page paper, a two-page summary and slides.

Cost Optimization with Linear Programming
Aug – Oct 2026
Independent project
github.com/abdulhaseeb707/cost-optimization-linear-programming
- Built a multi-plant kiln-fuel linear program in R that meets heat, sulphur and supply limits and cuts the modeled FY2025 fuel bill of a listed cement producer by 4.0% (Rs 794 million a year).
- Built the dataset from company reports and published fuel data; cross-checked the optimum with GLPK and rebuilt the model in Excel Solver.
- Tested eight scenarios, including the Oct 2025 halt in Afghan coal (+5.4% cost); shadow prices show that more tyre fuel and biomass is worth more than a higher alternative-fuel cap.
